Catching up at last
Got plenty of T Light, should have enough bowls and things. Could do with a few more goblets to at least show examples. Plenty of light pulls and the crochet hooks are coming on. Trouble is I keep thinking of other things I could make. I'm determined not to be like so many stall holders I have seen with the same old bowls, ear ring stands and Pot Pourri jars.
Still trying to build up a stock ready for the coming stall. Did these yesterday, all 1mm hooks. Had some walnut which looks classy.
Now all I need to do is get some dry wood. All the wood I have is green and not ready for using so anything I make is likely tio split. Looks like I will have to break a golden rule and buy wood. :-(

Busy busy busy
Been busy packing and posting orders the last couple of days but managed to get int he shed and finish off a few pieces.
This is splated beech and has been deliberately left to warp a bit after turning
This is again spalted beech, greta markings on this one. Designed as a nut bowl with the inside lip curving in to facilitate getting the nuts out LOL
Another spalted beech bowl, really warped but stable. vey deep. Good fruit bowl this one

Sold...time to buy
I have sold enough to seriously think about buying a new lathe. The one that I have is great but small. Any one want demonstrations? I need to get a larger one and have been debating over a few different ones. I can afford to get the No 1 contender but keep putting it off for some reason.
Etsy seems to have come to a halt, possibly because I really can't be bothered to go through all that ruddy palaver of relisting things all the time. 20c an item doesn't sound very much until you get the bill at the end of the month and it puts a big dent in your sales figures. I have a sale next week, another one the week after and an exhibition coming up November - December. Hopefully these will get my name out there. I really need to have a steady income even if it is only door knobs and light pulls. Great if I get a couple of 4 figure gallery requests....oh look there's another pig flying past. Watch this space for the ongoing saga of afrustrated super tutner

Sunday shopping
Sold a platter and a bowl today. What with a few tops, some goblets and an order for a fair bit of stuff from a shop I have done pretty well this last few days. Also the couple of pieces I had sold in the gallery and didn't know about. OK so I'm not rich yet but it's a lot more than I expected and always good for the ego LOL

Better get back in the shed
I was approached a while back by a craft shop asking if I'd be interested in stocking some of my work with them. When we finally got communicating ( emails disappearing into the ether) I ask what sort of number she wanted. "Maybe 15-20 T-lights, 30 hooks, 15 egg cups type numbers" came the answer. I also have a aastall on Oct. 9th where I intend to have a load of these cheaper articles so I think I need to start geting to work . I'll be doing these things in my sleep by the end. LOL
If these sell well in the shop it will be good regular outlet. Nice

Went to collect a few pieces from the gallery and found that he'd sold some of them. Every little helps. Must get a bigger lathe again ASAP as he reckons he can sell the bigger stuf and the profit margin is much better. Need to sell the smaller stuff though to have the money to buy the bigger lathe...Catch 22!!

Out of the blue
Recieved a phone call this morning asking if I can make 4 goblets for someone who wants them as gifts. She was looking for examples of good wooden craftwork and cam upon my website. Just getting my ego under control. To add to that an email came a few hours later asking to make it 5 instead. Sometimes things go well. Hey ho hey ho off to the shed I go. LOL
Weekend offers

Time to work at last
The last of the grandkids have gone home and are off baxck to school tomorrow so I bow have time to work....drat no excuses euther. I ned to make loads and loads sof small things, tops, light pulls, keyrings, hedgehogs, that sort of thing. Everyone loves the bigger or more expensive things and will ooh and aah over it but the money seems to be in the smaller bits and pieces at the moment. Apparently I'm not the only one who is skint. Let's see hom much I can do tomorrow.
